Instructions

• Follow the steps 1 to 6 to view a picture with a mat(s) and frame of your choice.
• Every change that you make should automatically update the picture on the right. If not, you will need to click on the "Update Picture" button (below the picture).
• To Print or Save the image you have created (with frame & mat), right-click (on PC), or Control-click (on Mac) on the image, and select "Print" or "Save" from your browser's menu. Some browsers may only give you a "Save" (or "Download") option in which case you will need to save the image to your computer & open it in another program (ie: photoshop) to view and print it. You can also select the "Save Image" link at the top of the page to save the picture to your computer.

Notes & Limitations

Problems with uploading a Picture:

• Make sure you select the radio checkbox beside "Upload My Picture" if you would like to try your own picture.
• Unfortunately, you can only select images that are of type "gif", "jpeg" (jpg), or "png". All other image types (photoshop & tiff files) will not work with this software. You should be able to easily convert your image to one of these types using your favourite image editing program.
• Please do not try to upload files larger than 500 Kilobytes in size. In addition, if you upload a file that is too small (less than 200px at longest dimension), it will be resized larger -- but may look distorted.
• Extremely large files will probably stall the program (take a long time to upload) or may not work at all.

Colour:

• The colours were made to be as close as possible to the actual colours of the mats (in most cases, the colours are taken from actual scans of the mats); however, due to the many different monitors, computer setups, operating systems, etc., etc...it's impossible to promise an exact match.
• Although you will never know how your picture is going to look until it's hanging on your wall, we feel this goes a long way in helping you make the right choices.

Browser & Operating System:

• This site works best with a resolution of 1024x768 or larger. It may work with smaller resolutions (like 800x600), but you will probably have to do a lot of scrolling.
• Javascript is required for correct operation.
• The latest versions of Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer are highly recommended. If you are having trouble, upgrading to the latest version of one of these browsers should help.

Essentials Mats

This is the lowest priced matboard that we carry - an excellent value in a matboard that has an acid-free core and backing paper. Available in Limited Colours only.

Regular Mats

The industry standard -- it has an acid-free cream-colored core and backing paper and is available in a larger range of stock colors than our Essentials line.

Conservation Mats

Constructed entirely with conservation materials. for original artwork, limited editions, and other valued artworks. All components are acid-free.

Non-Stock Regular Mats

The same board as Regular Mats -- but we do not keep these colours in stock. They will take longer to ship.
